This is a guide to set up Advanced Combat Tracker (ACT) so that it’ll send announcements over voice chat.

INSTALLING PROCEDURE

1. Download the following applications:
Advanced Combat Tracker: http://advancedcombattracker.com/includes/page-download.php?id=56

FFXIV Parsing Plugin: http://advancedcombattracker.com/includes/page-download.php?id=66

SlimDX libraries: http://slimdx.googlecode.com/files/SlimDX%20Runtime%20for%20.NET%204.0%20%28March%202011%29.exe

SlimDX XAudio2 Implementation: http://advancedcombattracker.com/includes/page-download.php?id=59

VB-Audio Virtual Cable: http://vbaudio.jcedeveloppement.com/Download_CABLE/VBCABLEDriver_Pack42b.zip

Team Speak 3: http://teamspeak.com/?page=downloads.

2. Install ACT by running the ACT setup. Then install the FFXIV plugin by going to the Plugin tab, Plugin Listing tab, and click on Browse and select the FFXIV parsing Plugin dll.

3. Install the SlimDX XAudio 2 plugin by first installing the SlimDX libraries. Then in ACT go to Plugin tab, Plugin Listing tab and click Browse to select the SlimDX XAudio2 dll.

4. Next download the VB-Audio Virtual Cable and install it. It will create a CABLE Input playback device and CABLE Output recording device. Any sound that is directed to CABLE input will go out to CABLE Output.

5. Configure Team Speak 3 so that it can be opened multiple times by inserting –nosingleinstance in TeamSpeak 3 Client shortcut’s Target as shown in figure below:

RUNNING TWO INSTANCE of ACT

Running two instance of ACT is needed so that one instance of ACT will do boss announcements over voice chat while the other instance of ACT will do user announcements or any announcements where you don’t want the whole group to hear.

1. Run the first instance of ACT which will be used for boss/raid announcements over voice chat.

2. Make sure all plugins are active.

3. Go to the SlimDX_XAudio2.dll tab and select “CABLE Input (VB-Audio Virtual Cable)” as the audio device.

4. Enable Boss/Raid and disable User custom triggers by going to custom triggers tab and check/uncheck triggers you want to be heard over voice communicaton. I have mine separated by grouped under Boss versus User category so that I can easily uncheck all user trigger by double clicking the User category. In my case I only want Boss custom trigger enabled so mine looks like the figure below:

5. We need to also enable Boss spell timers by clicking on Show Timers button then Right click in Spell Timers window to display the Spell Timers (Options) as shown below:

6. In Spell Timers (Options) I have my spell timers in two categories: Boss and User so that I can easily uncheck/check all spell timers by clicking on their respective category. For this instance of ACT, I’ll need to enable BOSS spell timer and disable User spell timer as shown below:

7. That’s it for the Boss/Raid instance of ACT. Now run the second instance ACT if you want to use it for user announcements or any announcements where you don’t want to be heard over voice chat. You’ll get an error with the FFXIV plugin but that’s ok. Just ignore it because it will read the parsing translation from the first instance of ACT:

8. In your second instance of ACT, the FFXIV plugin is disabled which is ok as shown below:

9. Go to the SlimDX_Xaudio2.dll and select your default audio device which in my case is “Speakers (Realtek High Definition Audio)”:

10. Under Custom Trigger you want to uncheck Boss triggers and select any trigger you want to hear on your speakers. For me I just uncheck Boss triggers and check User triggers as shown below:

11. Do the same for spell timers. For me I uncheck Boss spell timers and check user spell timers as shown below:

RUNNING TWO INSTANCE of TEAMSPEAK3

Again we want to use the first instance of Team Speak for Boss/Raid announcements coming from first instance of ACT and the second instance of Team Speak for your personal use.

1. Launch the first instance of Team Speak. We want to make sure we have two identities set up so that you don’t run into problem with some server rejecting multiple connection for same identity.

2. To create two identities, go to Settings, Identities.

3. Click Add and create an identity for your Boss/Raid announcement instance and an identity for your personal use instance.

4. Now, we’ll need to configure sound settings by going into Settings and Options.

5. Under Playback, select a dummy playback device:

6. Under Capture, select “CABLE Output (VB-Audio Virtual Cable)” :

7. Now connect to your Team Speak server but make sure to choose the correct identity.

8. Launch the second instance of Team Speak.

9. Configure sound settings by going to Settings and Options.

10. Under Playback, select Default as Playback Device.

11. Under Capture, select Default as Capture Device.

12. Connect to Team Speak server but make sure to choose a different identity from the first instance of Team Speak.

Is this only working with the March 2011 version of SlimDX?

If so, does someone have a download link for me? Because I tried it with the 2012 version and I'm getting dependencies missing error.

/edit: Well, found it, used archive.org to get the past download from the google one.
